Text & Code Diffing FAQ
What diff algorithm is used?
The inspector uses the Myers Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) algorithm, providing accurate line and character-level difference matrices identical to Git diffs.
Can I compare code snippets in different programming languages?
Yes. The diff engine supports arbitrary plain text, JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, C++, and markdown with line-synchronized scrolling.
