How to Measure Your Gaming Ping & Jitter
- 1
Click 'Start Ping Benchmark' to begin continuous packet round-trip timing against selected gaming edge servers.
- 2
Monitor the live sparkline graph to detect latency spikes, route jitter, and packet loss percentages.
- 3
Check the 'Lowest Ping Server' indicator to find the optimal server region for online competitive gaming.
- 4
Toggle 'Simulation Mode' to test the measurement algorithms and graph rendering without active internet connectivity.
Game Ping & Latency FAQ
What is considered good ping for competitive gaming?
Under 30ms is optimal for competitive shooters (CS2, Valorant, Apex). 30-60ms is good for casual play. Over 100ms can introduce noticeable input and hit-registration delay.
What causes high jitter and how does it affect games?
Jitter represents fluctuations in latency over time. High jitter causes rubberbanding and stutter even when average ping seems acceptable. Connecting via Ethernet cable usually eliminates jitter.
