Display Refresh Rate & Frame Pacer
High-precision requestAnimationFrame timing detects your monitor's native refresh rate in sub-Hz decimals. Includes UFO ghosting pursuit visualizer and frame drop counter.
Synthetic Simulation Mode
Self-Diagnostic Simulation Active: Synthetic events are being injected to test and verify algorithms autonomously.
How to Test Your Screen Refresh Rate & Ghosting
- 1
Allow the tool to sample 120 to 240 consecutive frames to calculate your display's native refresh rate (e.g. 144Hz or 240Hz).
- 2
Switch to Fullscreen Mode to eliminate browser window compositing overhead and test pure hardware VSync.
- 3
Follow the moving UFO pursuit bar with your eyes to inspect motion blur, pixel trailing, and overdrive ghosting artifacts.
- 4
Switch between dark, gray, and light backgrounds to test response time across various pixel color transitions.
Screen Refresh Rate & Ghosting FAQ
Why is my 144Hz or 240Hz monitor showing 60Hz?
Ensure high refresh rate is enabled in your OS display settings (Windows: Settings > Display > Advanced display > Choose a refresh rate) and that you are using a compatible DisplayPort or HDMI 2.0+ cable.
What is monitor ghosting vs inverse ghosting (overshoot)?
Ghosting is a dark trail caused by slow pixel transitions. Inverse ghosting (coronas) is a bright trail caused by overly aggressive overdrive settings on the monitor.
